OCTOBER 2021
SATURDAY AFTERNOON SESSION
WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
September 22, 2021
- We WILL NOT do Covid tests at our next rehearsal (9/26). Check-in will begin at 5:15 pm.
- We WILL do Covid tests at dress rehearsal (9/29). Please arrive at 6:00 pm; rehearsal will start at 7. If you are not here by 6:30, you may lose your chance to get tested and sit in the choir loft.
- Please remember to wear your performance attire this week (9/26).
- Rehearsal tracks for all songs are now published here. As mentioned in rehearsal, these are simple piano tracks, not choral tracks. Soprano tracks include 1st and 2nd soprano parts; same with 1st/ 2nd alto, 1st/2nd tenor, bari/bass. Some of the three-way splits may not be represented correctly; if there is a discrepancy, please sing what Sister Wood has instructed even if it doesn’t match the recording perfectly.
- THANK YOU for working so hard to memorize the music.
- GROOMING: Rather than giving you a list of rigid DOs and DON’Ts, we are simply asking you to look your best and to present yourself in a way that does not draw attention to you and away from the message and spirit of the music. If you have specific questions, please come talk to us.
- DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: You will all get a box lunch between rehearsal and the session on October 2nd. We will request special box lunches for those with dietary restrictions based on the information you provided when you applied in April 2020. If you have restrictions and want to double check to make sure you noted them correctly, please email us asap.
- We do have a video of last week’s rehearsal published here, but unfortunately the camera was not focused on our conductor. The audio will still be helpful for those of you who were unable to attend.
- Please start to make plans to carpool. We’ll discuss this more on Sunday.
- We will provide each choir member with a black N95 mask for performance day.
- Have a great week, and happy memorizing!
September 18, 2021
- Rehearsals will move to the Conference Center starting on Sunday, September 19.
- Once you park, come to ground level and go to doors 4, 5, or 6 to enter the building.
- We will be doing rapid Covid tests on September 19. Please be ready to enter the building at 5:00 pm.
- Each person has a testing area assigned to them (see attached list). When you arrive, follow the signs to your testing area.
- After you receive your test result, choir members will be directed to check in with a registration assistant and receive a new seating chart. After that, you can find your seat in the choir loft.
- We are still working on the new seating chart, so it is not yet posted on the website.
- Registration assistants: please arrive at 4:45 as you will need to be tested first.
- If you are sick, you should still stay home.
- Please do your best to be out of your music and as memorized as possible tomorrow.
- THANK YOU!
August 30, 2021
- No rehearsal 9/5. Enjoy the weekend!
- The 8/29 rehearsal recording can be found here.
- Please continue to immediately report Covid exposures, symptoms, and test results to [email protected].
- Please wear your performance dress to rehearsal on 9/26 and dress rehearsal 9/29.
- The most recent rehearsal seating charts can be found here. If you see something that doesn't seem right in the seating chart, please email us.
- Alternates, unless you have been given a new seating chart with a sticky note that says "this is your new permanent seat," please begin rehearsals in the balcony areas and we will fill in empty slots 30 minutes into the rehearsal. Thank you for your flexibility!
- Please remember to wear your masks while walking to and from rehearsal if you cannot social distance. Thank you!
August 23, 2021
- The rehearsal recording can be found here.
- If you were absent last week, please watch the rehearsal recording and rehearse at home before the next rehearsal.
- Please email [email protected] if there is a need for you to miss rehearsal. If you've emailed us already about a future absence, please send us a reminder a couple days before that rehearsal. We will do our best to work with you.
- Wardrobe will be the same as what we planned for April 2020.
- Covid Reminders:
- The yellow boxes on this map show free rapid testing sites. Please let us know if you have problems getting appointments in the timeframe needed as this feedback is helpful for our team. A choir member mentioned that if appointments are unavailable, you can often show up anyway and still get a test.
- If you are sick, please let us know and do not attend rehearsal. Get a free rapid test immediately. With a negative test and no symptoms, you're welcome to return to rehearsal. Just keep us updated.
- If you test positive for Covid, please email [email protected] immediately so we can notify those who may have been around you and have them get tested.
- If you have been exposed to Covid, please get a free rapid test at least 3 days after exposure. If hour test is negative, you're welcome to come to rehearsal.
- THANK YOU for your flexibility!
